The year is 2014. You are now the president of the United States.

You have strived for pulling forces out of the Middle Eastern conflict. You strive to give the United States a new face, going against the 'world police' role, and would like to start over and try to be everyone's friend. You strive to open trade with more nations, including South America. So far, you are seemingly on everyone's good side. You have also forged a good friendship with Russia, and China. Some of Europe questions your anticts with allying with the 'Motherland'.

The country has been suffering from previous temporary patchwork in order to fix a crumbling economy. You have instituted strong home defense systems, and have strived and ordered for your country to go green, utilizing in bio degradable energy, solar, wind, and water.

The goal is to get electric cars affordable and running on the streets in the near future, and begin to put a close on oil ran land vehicles.

On October 12, 2014, Russia fires back at Ukraine for border conflict, and has bombed the capitol of Poland, Warsaw, into submission with a nuclear warhead. Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania have also been struck with air raids and land military forces. Belarus surrenders to Russia.

The following countries declare war on Russia.

Much of Europe unites seemingly as a single force to combat Russia's immanent progress through the European realm.

China's new rule begins a takeover on its western neighbors, attacking Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar. Arial attacks on Taiwan have instigated aggressive Philippine actions.

Seeing how the other realm disputes can disrupt U.S. intervention, North Korea has finally deployed its forces through their underground routes against South Korea, ambushing the interior, the DMZ becomes a brutal crossfire warzone. North Korea threatens use of Nuclear force if South Korea does not surrender within a week. Seoul, and the eastern port cities of South Korea have been attacked. Further threats are instigated on Japanese intervention.

The following countries declare war on North Korea (DPRK)

Cuba and Venezuala have been rumored to possibly threaten the US with Russian nuclear assistance.

Canada and the US currently remain in isolation with the ongoing world crisis. You, as the president of the United States, have a decision to make...

Do you declare war on Russia? Remember, Russia has used nuclear firepower on Poland (Our missile defense shield could have possibly instigated this attack, no one knows the current ambition).

Do you declare war on China? What about Venezuala and Cuba?

What would you do? Who do you forge an alliance with? Do you ally the aggressors or attack them? Do you help deploy non-human help to defending countries/aggressive countries? What would you do? ANYTHING you can think of...

Personally I'm all for kicking the hell out of any country that shoots a nuke - US included. So war on Russia and potentially North Korea.

BTW, where's the UN in all of this?

As for that, the first paragraph explains the US tries to back away from other worldwide conflicts and, basically, isolates themselves while trying to grow economically stronger, and build up the best defense in the world. The US no longer instigate outside conflicts.

I would never endorse any requirement for "green" technology, but I am open to tax benefits for corporations and consumers using them. I do not support a mandate for outlawing internal combustion automobiles, nor a government mandate requiring "green" technology. The federal government should not make policy in this matter, as evidence of any major global climate change resulting from technology has not been proven to my satisfaction.

I don't think your scenario of the US being isolated from all the conflicts would ever happen, sadly. I believe we should return to the isolation doctrine, but my opinion is outnumbered, and the reality is that the US has many military installations worldwide.

I would immediately revive the Strategic Defense Initiative to deploy a space-based missile defense. China has the capability to destroy satellites from the ground, and I honestly don't know why we haven't addressed that capability given our reliance on the satellite network.

Russia's actions in your hypothetical scenario would almost certainly draw the US into war with all the US installations present in Europe, particularly the missile defense installations. Not to mention all our treaties(NATO) and the use of nuclear weapons.

I would blockade Cuba, and/or Venezuela if they threatened such action. I would declare war if they took action.

I would lend military aid to Taiwan, and China would likely declare war on us, anyway.

The US is stationed in South Korea, so I would probably declare war on North Korea, starting with air strikes on all their nuclear facilities, and other military installations.

I think Japan would get involved if China became an aggressor.

In conclusion, the world explodes in a nuclear mushroom cloud, unless we can get some freakin' orbital laser cannons, already. Hurray.

Actually the green tech (if I had my ways) would just be a deterrent against rising oil prices and the evident truth that one day oil will run out. Of course it won't in a near future like alot of hypocrites are claiming, but it is a finite resource. It would just be my movement towards the future, but everyone has good alternative strageties.

I'd store a bunch of fuel, food, tools, materials, and knowledge somewhere where the other guy's bombs can't reach us. I'd gather ~1,000 women with me in that location and maybe a few friends, authorities in my religion, useful people etc. in a seperate nearby location.

Then I'd blow everything up and personally repopulate the species.

10%-20% of the woman can be full time teachers/mothers (some would be cycled in and out) while the rest can start work on rebuilding. The first goal would be to ensure there is a steady supply of food and water and once that is taken care of construction of Winterclawville will commense.

Thankfully I won't be president in 2014.

if i am the us president in 2014, I'll secretly sell weapons to all those countries listed. All the time secretly make them hate each other even more. Continue to sell them more weapons and to make it looks like all other countries are evil. then unashamedly sending out agents to assasinate other countries president saying they have traded weapons of mass destruction and then put in a "fake" president that listen to me, and only me. all this while training more terrorist in other country afterwhich destroy all traces that can lead back to me, make my countrymen more comfortable, give them more luxury so they are immerce in comfort that they forget what is actually happening in the world outside, at the same time also instill fear into my countrymen/women so that I may control them easier, with words like terrorist, weapon of mass destruction.

Scenario isn't accurate.

Italy would never declare war on anyone. They'll just join in and keep swapping sides.

I'm unsure the Irish would even care.

And as for the UK, well if you go back a bit then sure we would have declared war. But now as our leaders are seemingly incapable of doing anything without America (no point asking Europe they all speak funny languages)

There is one thing I did like about your scenario and that was: the world is already at war. Should America do nothing or arrive when it’s nearly over? (a la WW2) At least that way you can continue to make lots of films about America fighting in Europe without the need to show any of the allied forces....
